Kellerman, Ortiz, Smith Conclude Season at NCAA Gymnastics Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas – Michigan State gymnasts Sage Kellerman, Gabi Ortiz and Nikki Smith closed the 2026 season competing in the first semifinal session of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships Thursday afternoon inside Dickies Arena.Â
Smith, competing in the all-around, finished with the fourth-best score in the session with a 39.475. Competing in Olympic order and beginning on vault, she earned a 9.850 in the first rotation and followed that up with a 9.7875 on bars in the second rotation. Smith saved her best events for last, putting up a spectacular 9.925 on beam in the third rotation capped off by a stuck double tuck dismount for a tie for the fourth-best beam score in the session. She concluded her meet and collegiate career with a 9.9125 on floor to finish in a tie for sixth on the event in the session.Â
Kellerman competed in the first rotation on bars, scoring a 9.8625 to finish in a tie for 10th place in the session on the event. She concluded her career with a 9.800 on vault in the final rotation.Â
Ortiz, who made her first NCAA Championships appearance as an individual, scored a 9.800 on floor in the third rotation.Â
Both Kellerman and Smith conclude their careers as two of the most decorated gymnasts in program history. Smith ends her career as a four-time Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Regular Season All-American, AAI Award finalist and program all-around record holder, while Kellerman finishes as a five-time WCGA All-American and three-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. The pair combined for seven perfect 10.000s across their careers.Â
All-America honors will be announced by the WCGA on Friday, April 17.Â
