Men’s Golf Completes Day One at Colleton River Collegiate

East Lansing, Mich. – The Michigan State men's golf team shot a 13-over par 589 after the first two rounds of play and is in 15th place among 15 teams at the Colleton River Collegiate, being played at the Colleton River Club in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Kentucky leads the field after firing a 12-under par 564. Ohio State sits one stroke behind after shooting a 11-under par 565. Minnesota (7-under par 569), Iowa (6-under par 570) and Rutgers (1-under par 575) round out the top five.
Senior Caleb Bond led the Spartans, sitting in 32nd place after firing a 1-over par 145 (72-73) on the day.
Senior Ashton McCulloch is in 36th place after a 2-over par 146 (72-74).
Juniors Lorenzo Pinili (74-76) and Lucas Acevedo (76-74) are tied for 68th place after shooting a 6-over par 150.
Junior Julian Menser is in 76th place after shooting 8-over par 152 after rounds of 78 and 74.
Playing as individuals, junior McCoy Biagioli is in 61st place after a 5-over par 149 day, while sophomore Juan Velasquez is in 81st place after a 9-over par 153.
The Spartans tee off at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, playing alongside Northwestern, Kansas State and Indiana.
