This Week In Spartan Athletics – January 6
Here's a look at the week ahead (January 6-12) for Michigan State Athletics:
Men's Basketball
No. 12 Michigan State plays the second of three straight home games as the Spartans host Northwestern Thursday at 6:30 p.m. It's the second of two Izzone Reunion Games.
Women's Basketball
No. 15 Michigan State travels to the Pacific Northwest for a pair of games this week. Thursday, the Spartans play at No. 23 Washington, followed by a Sunday contest at Oregon.
Hockey
No. 2 Michigan State returns to Big Ten play with a weekend series at Ohio State. The Spartans are in Columbus for Friday and Saturday contests.
Indoor Track & Field
Members of the men's and women's indoor track and field teams will compete at the Wolverine Invitational Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor.
Gymnastics
The No. 6 Spartans open the season Saturday at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad in West Valley City, Utah. The quad features four ranked teams as MSU will compete against No. 9 Kentucky, No. 14 Michigan and No. 20 California. The event will be televised on ESPN2 at 8 p.m.
Wrestling
Michigan State opens the Big Ten dual season Friday at Michigan. It's the first of six straight conference weekends for the Spartans.
