East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team had three golfers selected to the Big Ten Conference Golfers to Watch List today.
The Spartans opened the year on Monday, playing in the Folds of Honor Collegiate, which concludes on Wednesday.
Seniors Paula Balanzategui and Taylor Kehoe and junior Ana Sofia Murcia were selected from the Michigan State team as the golfers to watch.
The trio of golfers were all part of the team's scoring lineup last year as Michigan State made a run through the postseason, finishing as the runner-up in the newly-expanded Big Ten Conference, placing third in an NCAA Regional and advancing to the NCAA Championships for the 17th time all-time and the 15th under Slobodnik-Stoll.
Despite losing two of the top players in program history, the cupboard isn't bare in East Lansing by any stretch, with three of the team's top-five returning for the 2025-26 season.
Kehoe, who transferred to MSU from Alabama last year, finished second on the team in scoring average at 72.43 and posted two top-5 finishes, five among the top-10 and eight among the top-20, including a tie for fifth place at the NCAA Norman (Okla.) Regional.
Balanzategui, who has the most career rounds played at MSU of any returning player, was fourth on the team in scoring average last year at 74.25 and posted two top-10 finishes and three among the top-20.
Murcia was one of just two players (Biermann) to appear in all 12 tournaments and play all 35 rounds last year, finishing the season with a 74.49 scoring average and two top-20 appearances.
