MSU Men’s Tennis Opens Fall Play at Battle in the Bay

Two Spartans head to California for the first tournament of the fall season
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State men's tennis opens fall action this weekend with a trip out west for the Battle in the Bay tournament held from Sept. 11-14 in San Francisco, California.
Senior Ozan Baris and junior Taym Alazmeh will represent the Spartans. This will be the third-straight year that MSU has sent players to this tournament.
Baris, the 2023 Battle in the Bay Men's Singles Champion, returns looking to regain his title and start the season strong. Alazmeh will make his tournament debut, looking for early momentum in the fall slate.
Alazmeh will open against Santiago Giamichelle of Georgia, while Baris will square off against Adam Jilly of Illinois in Thursday's opening round. Baris and Alazmeh will also team up in doubles, meeting Jelani Sarr and Niels Villard of Arizona State in opening action.
The Spartans are looking to ace their first tournament this weekend to set the pace for their upcoming fall competitions.
