East Lansing, Mich. – Six members of the Michigan State women's golf team have been named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.
The Spartans recognized were junior Paula Balanzategui, senior Brooke Biermann, junior Taylor Kehoe, senior Katie Lu, freshman Catalina Monroy and sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as the minimum cumulative GPA for garnering the honor is 3.50.
This marks the fourth-straight year the women's golf program has had six golfers selected to the WGCA All-American Scholars list, matching the school record first set in 2021-22 and followed up the last three seasons.
Biermann and Lu closed out their record-setting careers at Michigan State with their fourth-straight honor, while Balanzategui earned her third nod and Kehoe her second.
Michigan State was just one five Big Ten schools with at least six golfers in the WGCA All-American Scholars list.
All six student-athletes were part of a Michigan State team that helped to cap off another successful season for the Spartans. MSU finished in second place at the Big Ten Championships, advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the ninth-straight year and the 25th time in the last 26 years since 1999. The Spartans finished in third place at the NCAA Norman (Okla.) Regional and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the 17th time in program history, including 15 trips under head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll.
