East Lansing, Mich. -- Junior rower Maddie Kieft (Ypsilanti, Mich.) has earned All-America Honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, as announced on June 6.
Â
Kieft, who joined the Spartans after beginning her collegiate experience at North Carolina, earned Honorable Mention honors. She manned the three seat in MSU's varsity eight, earning Second Team All-Big Ten Honors. She helped the Spartans to a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships, MSU's highest finish since 2014. Michigan State's top boat showed consistent and rapid improvement throughout the season, making the grand final not only at Big Tens, but also at IRA Women's Sprints in Worcester in late April. MSU finished the season ranked No. 21 in the country after beginning the year – and spending most of it – outside the top 25.Â
