The Green and White kicked off their postseason this past weekend at the Big Ten Tournament. Michigan State secured a 4-2 rematch victory over USC in the quarterfinals, but ultimately came up short against No. 2 UCLA, falling 4-0 in the semifinals. UCLA went on to beat top-seeded and host Ohio State for the Big Ten Tournament title.
MSU freshman Matthew Forbes was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team after an impressive showing, finishing the weekend 2-0 and clinching the decisive match against USC for the Spartans.
The Spartans have qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and the third time in program history.
Their first appearance came in 2013, when current head coach Harry Jadun was a sophomore student-athlete playing for MSU. In 2013, Jadun and the Spartans fell to Tulsa in the first round, finishing the season with a 14-14 record.
Last season, the Spartans earned a 4-0 first-round victory over Denver before falling to No. 12 Harvard in the second round, 4-0.
Scouting North Alabama
North Alabama capped off an impressive regular season with a 19-3 record, capturing the first ASUN Tournament title in program history. The Lions enter the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 68 in the latest ITA team rankings.
