No. 1 Seed Michigan State to Play Oregon in Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State enters the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face No. 8 seed Oregon on Friday, March 14 (noon, BTN).

The game will air live on BTN, with Guy Haberman, Stephen Bardo and Rick Pizzo calling all of the action. Michigan State enters Friday's game with a 26-5 overall record (17-3 B1G) and are No. 7 in the Associated Press and No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches polls.

The Spartans, winners of seven-straight games, closed out the regular season with a 79-62 win over Michigan on Sunday.

Series History

Michigan State and Oregon have played six times, with MSU holding a 3-2 edge.
This will be the first-ever meeting in the Big Ten Tournament.
Michigan State won the first meeting between the schools, 86-74, on Feb. 8.
Jase Richardson scored a career-high 29 points and No. 9 MSU stormed back from a 14-point halftime deficit and pulled away late for an 86-74 win.

Jaxon Kohler had his fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Tre Holloman added 13 points and a game-high 7 assists and Jaden Akins had 10 points.
MSU has won the last two games, including a 74-70 decision on Nov. 25, 2022 in the second round of the Phil Knight Invitational in Oregon.
Oregon's last win in the series was an 87-82 decision on Dec. 27, 1969 in the Far West Classic in Portland, Ore.
