Four in Double Figures as No. 14 Michigan State Uses Big Second Half to Beat No. 12 Michigan, 75-62

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Junior guard Tre Holloman scored 11 of his 18 points in the second half, while freshman guard Jase Richardson scored 21 points and four players scored in double figures as No. 14 Michigan State used a big second half to beat No. 12 Michigan, 75-62, at Crisler Center Friday night.
Richardson scored 11 of his 21 points in the first half, adding six rebounds. Holloman finished with 18 points and four assists, senior guard Jaden Akins added 11 points and three assists and redshirt freshman guard Jeremy Fears Jr. finished and two assists. Junior center Carson Cooper snared a team-high eight rebounds, highlighted by two offensive boards in the final 1:18 to secure the Victory for MSU.

- Michigan State trailed by four points (38-34) at the break but quickly took the lead in the second half and the teams went back and forth, with a pair of ties and two lead changes.
- The Spartans used a 14-4 run over 4:24 to take a 62-51 lead on a driving layup from Fears at 7:39 before Michigan pulled to within three points, 62-59, on a layup from Vlad Goldin with 5:39 left.
- Richardson hit two-straight jumpers, Cooper followed with a dunk off a feed from Holloman and Fears banked in a 3-pointer with 2:17 to play, pushing MSU's lead to 71-62, capping a 7-2 run.

- Nimari Burnett hit a 3-pointer to pull Michigan within 48-47 (12:35), but Holloman hit three-straight 3-pointers to trigger the 14-4 run as MSU led 62-51, setting up the finish.
