Staniszewska Earns AVCA All-North Region Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State volleyball junior Karolina Staniszewska was named an All-North Region honorable mention pick by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), as announced by the organization Tuesday.Â
The all-region nod is the first for the outside hitter, who collected Second Team All-Big Ten honors for the first time in her career last week. She is the first pin hitter from Michigan State to earn all-region honors since Sarah Franklin in 2021.Â
Staniszewska, who hails from Warsaw, Poland, led the Spartans in total kills (349) and kills per set (3.12) this season and was the only Spartan to start in all 30 matches, playing in 112 of 113 possible sets. She set single-match career highs in single-match career highs in kills (23), digs (19), service aces (4) and total blocks (5) in 2025.Â
She also posted nine double-doubles (kills-digs) this season and recorded a team-best 19 matches with double-digit kills while posting 12 double-digit dig performances.Â
Staniszewska helped MSU to an 18-12 record in 2025, its most wins since 2017, including a perfect 10-0 non-conference record under first-year head coach Kristen Kelsay.Â
