EAST LANSING, Mich. – Four Michigan State players have earned All-Big Ten recognition on offense for the 2025 season.
Senior tight end Jack Velling earned third-team All-Big Ten recognition from the media and was an honorable mention selection by the coaches. Sophomore wide receiver Nick Marsh was honorable mention by both the coaches and media, while graduate center Matt Gulbin and senior wide receiver Omari Kelly round out the Spartans recognized by both earning honorable mention kudos from the media.
OFFENSE
TE Sr. Jack Velling (third-team All-Big Ten media and honorable mention coaches)
• Fourth-year tight end played in 47 collegiate games (23 at Oregon State from 2022-23; 24 at MSU with 12 in 2024 and 12 in 2025).
• Started 37 career games (18 at Oregon State, 19 at MSU).
• Had 117 receptions for 1,489 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career, reaching the 100 career catches milestone in the Michigan game (10/25/25).
• Had 45 catches for 719 yards and 11 TDs in two years at Oregon State (2022-23); had 72 catches for 770 yards and four TDs at MSU (2024-25).
• Had seven career games of 70+ yards of his college career, with three outings during his time at Oregon State (74 vs. Arizona State in 2022; 83 vs. UCLA and 71 vs. Arizona in back-to-back games in 2023) and four as a Spartan (77 vs. both Boston College and vs. Rutgers in 2024; 70 yards vs. Youngstown State in 2025; career-high 88 vs. Iowa in 2025).
• Ranks tied for fifth among Big Ten tight ends in TDs (3), while also ranking fourth among tight ends in B1G in receptions (36), in addition to ranking fifth among the league's TEs in yards (359).
• Also tied for 19th overall among the B1G TEs in receiving percentage (.818), with 36 catches on 44 targets, good for 12th among TEs with more than one catch.
• Additionally ranks sixth among the TEs in the conference in targets (44).
• Played in all 12 games, with nine starts.
• Had 36 catches for 359 yards and three TDs in 2025.
• The 36 receptions tied his single-season high, matching last year's total.
• Tallied 13 receptions for 156 yards and one TD in his last two games after five catches for 68 yards and a TD in game vs. Maryland (11/29/25) and eight receptions for 88 yards vs. Iowa (11/22/25).
• Logged 611 snaps, which led all Spartan tight ends and ranked fifth overall on offense.

• Has 100 career receptions for 1,311 yards with nine career TDs in 23 career games, making 20 consecutive starts.
• Reached the 1,000 career yards milestone in the game vs. Indiana (10/18/25), becoming 49th Spartan player to reach the 1,000 yards receiving milestone.
• Now with 1,311 career receiving yards, has moved up to No. 38 on MSU's career receiving list.
• Had seven catches in season-finale vs. Maryland at Ford Field (11/29/25), to reach exactly 100 for his career, becoming the third Spartan receiver to reach 100 career receptions in the last two games, joining teammates Omari Kelly and Chrishon McCray, who both hit the milestone at Iowa (11/22/25).
• The 100 career receptions moves him to tie for No. 33 on the Spartans' career receptions list, tying Felton Davis III (2015-18).
• A total of 56-of-100 (.560) of receptions have gone for either a first down or TD.
• Snared four or more receptions in a game 16 total times, while snaring five or more catches a total of 10 times in career.
• Posted 50+ yards receiving in a game 12 times in career.
• Has longest streak on team of at least one reception in 23 straight games, with one in every game that he's appeared in as a Spartan, including multiple receptions in the last 22 games played after one catch in his collegiate debut.
• Ranks tied for ninth in the B1G and tied for 50th in the FBS in TD catches, matching jersey number (6).
• Second in B1G and tied for 24th in the FBS in targets (97).
• Also ranked tied for ninth in the league and tied for 61st in the nation in receptions/game (4.9), in addition to seventh in the conference and tied for 52nd in the country in receptions (59), while ranking 12th in the league and just outside the top 100 in the FBS total receiving yards (662), along with 13th in the conference and also just outside the top 100 in the FBS in yards/game (55.2).
• Had 59 total catches for 662 yards with six TDs, a new single-season for his career after doubling last season's three scores.
• The 59 catches is also new career-high, topping last year's season-total of 41 catches.
• After one TD catch in week one vs. Western Michigan, added career-high two TDs against Boston College for back-to-back games with TD receptions for the second time in career, also doing so last year against Michigan and Indiana.
• Had at least one catch in all 12 games, including multiple receptions in all 12 games this season.
• Recorded four or more catches a total of 10 times this season (Maryland, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, UCLA, Nebraska, Youngstown State, Boston College, Western Michigan), led by a season-high seven catches in three games, with two occasions coming in back-to-back contests (Indiana and UCLA), along with Maryland, only being held under four catches once this season (USC with two).
• Posted 50+ yards in a game in seven games this season (Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, UCLA, Youngstown State, Boston College), highlighted by a season-high 94 in Youngstown State game. • Experienced lineman played in 52 collegiate games (41 at Wake Forest; 11 at MSU), including 34 starts (11 at left guard, 11 at right guard, one at center while at WF; 11 at center at MSU).
• Named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List for the nation's top center.
• Started and played every snap of first 11 games at center, and snapping the ball on all 727 offensive snaps, the only Spartan to play in all 727 offensive plays through the 11 games, before missing Maryland game at Ford Field with an injury.
• Ranked seventh among B1G offensive linemen in total plays and tied for ninth in the B1G overall in total plays at time of injury.
• Finished season No. 32 in B1G among offensive linemen in total plays.
• Graded as the No. 1 center in both the B1G and the FBS in run block (80.3) by Pro Football Focus, as well as graded as the No. 2 center in overall offense in the B1G and No. 2 center in FBS (82.1) by Pro Football Focus.

• Snared 105 career catches, reaching the 100 career receptions milestone in the Iowa game (11/22/25), the same game that teammate Chrishon McCray also hit the 100-catch mark.
• Had 1,596 receiving yards in 42 collegiate games (19 at Auburn from 2022-23; 11 at Middle Tennessee State in 2024; 12 at Michigan State in 2025), making 19 starts (nine at MTSU in 2024; 12 at MSU in 2025).
• Added 233 punt return yards and 33 rushing yards for 1,862 career all-purpose yards (44.3 ypg).
• Surpassed the 1,000-yard career mark in Spartan debut in 2025 season opener vs. Western Michigan (8/29/25), and also had first career rushing attempt of career in same game.
• Scored six career receiving TDs (four at MTSU; two at MSU) and seven overall TDs (four receiving, one kick return at MTSU; one receiving at MSU), along with one 2-point conversion catch.
• Has five career 100-yard outings, with four in 2024 at Middle Tennessee State and one this season at MSU.
• Ranked 15th in B1G in receiving yards/game (52.2), receptions (47) and receiving yards (626), while ranking 16th in receptions/game (3.9), along with 23rd in yards/catch (13.3).
• Also ranked sixth in the league and tied for 36th in the nation in punt return yards (150), along with 11th in conference and tied for 58th the country in total punt returns (12).
• Ranks 30th in the league in all-purpose yards/game (67.4), ranking 30th in the conference in all-purpose total yards (809), as well as 12th in the B1G and tied for 52nd in the FBS in all purpose yards/play (12.4).
• Had 47 receptions for 626 yards, ranking second on the team in both, with two TDs, the first coming on a 75-yard scoring strike at USC for MSU's longest pass play as well as its longest offensive play of the season at the time, and the second coming in season finale vs. Maryland at Ford Field in his final collegiate game, on a 10-yard pass to seal the Victory for MSU over UMD.
• Had 12 punt returns for 150 yards and six rushes for 33 yards, for total of a team-leading 809 all-purpose yards (67.4 ypg), leading MSU in both categories.
• Had at least one catch in all 12 games, including multiple receptions in 10 of the 12 games, including five or more catches in five games, while posting 50 or more yards in six games.
• Of 47 catches, 28 (.596) went for first downs or touchdowns, plus one rush and one pass, for 30-of-49 (.612) offensive touches going for first downs, adding one game-winning two-point conversion vs. Boston College, that doesn't register as an official catch or offensive touch.
• Snared four or more receptions in each of first four games as a Spartan after six catches at USC, plus four each in Youngstown State and Boston College games, and seven vs. Western Michigan in the season-opener.
