EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State football has set a new program record with 51 honorees on the 2025 Academic All-Big Ten Team.
The previous record was set in 2021 when MSU had 45 honorees.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, be enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months, and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Michigan State's list of honorees includes 18 multi-year selections. Two Spartans – Sam Edwards and Darius Snow – were named to the Academic All-Big Ten team for the fifth time, joining a group of just eight Spartans in program history to earn that distinction (AJ Arcuri, Luke Campbell, Matt Coghlin, Maverick Hansen, Jake Hartbarger, Brandon Sowards). In addition, Edwards was one of 13 Spartans recognized as having a perfect 4.0 GPA for his graduate work in marketing research and analytics.
Jay Coyne, Ryan Eckley, Ashton Lepo, Michael Masunas, David Millikin, Ben Nelson and Alex VanSumeren are on the academic all-conference team for the third time, while Tarik Ahmetbasic, Cole Dellinger, Jordan Hall, Khalil Majeed, Brennan Parachek, Stanton Ramil, Malik Spencer, Jalen Thompson, Jaxson Wilson and Jack Yanachik made the team for the second time.
