EAST LANSING, Mich. – Sixth-year graduate senior Alante Brown and redshirt freshman quarterback Alessio Milivojevic earned weekly honors from the Big Ten Conference on Monday after their performances propelled Michigan State to a 38-28 win over Maryland in the season finale at Ford Field on Saturday, Nov. 29.
Brown was named the Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week, while Milivojevic earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolades.
After the Terrapins scored back-to-back touchdowns in the third quarter to trim Michigan State's 24-7 halftime lead to 24-21, Brown electrified the Ford Field crowd with a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, marking the first Spartan kick return for a TD since Nov. 29, 2014 (R.J. Shelton vs. Penn State). Brown had missed the previous nine games with an injury before returning to the field in his last collegiate game in which he also served as the honorary game captain. It also marked his first career return for a touchdown.
Making his fourth career start, Milivojevic earned his first career win as the starting quarterback after throwing for a career-high four touchdowns. He completed 27-of-39 passes for 292 yards with TD throws to four different receivers (Kai Rios, 1 yard in first quarter; Nick Marsh, 15 yards in second quarter; Jack Velling, 9 yards in second quarter; Omari Kelly, 10 yards in fourth quarter).
With MSU leading 31-28 and facing a fourth-and-7 on the Maryland 10-yard line at the two-minute timeout, Milivojevic found Kelly in the end zone uncovered for the game-sealing touchdown.
Milivojevic finished the season completing 64 percent of his passes (111-of-173) for 1,267 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions in nine games of action, including four starts.

The @MSU_Football WR, who's battled his share of injury, housed a sweet 92-yard kick return.
