MSU Baseball Assistant Coach Adam Eaton Leaving For LA Angels

Spartan Player Development Director joining Angels as first base coach and outfield instructor.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State baseball head coach Jake Boss Jr. announced Wednesday that Player Development Director Adam Eaton has left the Spartan staff and will be joining the Los Angeles Angels as first base coach and outfield instructor.
"We're extremely appreciative of everything that Coach Eaton did for Michigan State baseball," Boss said. "Our players learned a lot from him just as he learned a lot from our players in his first coaching position. We wish him nothing but the best with the Angels, we know he's going to do great things with them, and he'll forever be a Spartan."
Eaton joined the MSU staff in September of 2022, and was with the Spartans for three seasons. As Director of Player Development, Eaton served as a coaching staff liaison having input on the development of outfield play, base-running and hitting.
He was no stranger to Spartan Athletics, as his brother-in-law is former MSU hockey player Zach Osburn, who played for the Spartans from 2015-19, and earned honorable mention All-B1G honors in 2019.
Eaton played Major League Baseball for 10 seasons (2012-21), before retiring prior to the 2022 season, including winning the World Series with the Washington Nationals in 2019. He was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 19th round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of Miami of Ohio. Eaton made his MLB debut on September 4, 2012, with the Diamondbacks. He also played for the Chicago White Sox (2014-16, 21), the Nationals (2017-20) and the Los Angeles Angels (2021).
Eaton was also teammate of new Angels' manager Kurt Suzuki with the Nationals from 2019-20.
