Forsyth and Osterberg Sweep Big Ten Women’s Cross Country Honors

EAST LANSING, MICH. - In the final weekly honors of the regular season, Sarah Forsyth and Madison Osterberg swept Big Ten Women's Cross Country awards on Wednesday, as announced by the conference office.
Forsyth, who hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan, earned her first Big Ten Women's Athlete of the Week honors after finishing first at the Eastern Michigan Classic. She ran the 5k race in a personal-best time of 17:20.40. She is the first Spartan woman to win Athlete of the Week honors since Katie Osika on Sept. 20, 2023.
Osterberg, a native of Jackson, Michigan, captured her first Big Ten Women's Freshman of the Week honors by helping the Spartan women dominate the Eastern Michigan Classic with her first cross country 5k. She finished second overall with a time of 17:21.20. Osterberg is the first Spartan woman to earn the Freshman of the Week honor.
These were the first Big Ten honors for the MSU women this season.
Michigan State will now prepare to host the Big Ten Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 31.
