Lorenzo Pinili Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State junior Lorenzo Pinili was named the Big Ten Conference Golfer of the Week on Thursday afternoon.

Michigan State's men's golf team closed out play in the St Andrews Links Collegiate on Wednesday afternoon with a 4.5 to 1.5 win over the University of St Andrews in the medal match play round on the historic Old Course.

Pinili, who tied for second place in the stroke play portion of the event at 4-under par 136, shot a 5-under par 67 and won his match, 4up, against Winston Margaritis from the University of St Andrews.

This is the second Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor for Pinili, who claimed it in March, 2025 after winning the Colleton River Collegiate.

The competition in the St Andrews Links Collegiate was the final event of the fall portion of the season for the Spartans, who will be back in action next semester as the championship portion of the schedule gets underway.
