Michigan State Hosts Indiana State on Saturday Afternoon

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball team returns to the Breslin Center floor for its first game after Christmas and the final game of the 2023 calendar year, hosting Indiana State on Saturday, Dec. 30 (2 p.m., FS1). This is the first meeting between the programs since March 26, 1979, when then-sophomore Earvin "Magic" Johnson led the Spartans to a 75-64 win over the Larry Bird-led Sycamores in the NCAA Championship game.
The game will air live on FS1, with Jeff Levering and Robbie Hummel calling all of the action. The Spartan Media Network radio call can be heard state-wide and on the web at MSUSpartans.com, with Will Tieman handling the play-by-play and Matt Steigenga serving as the color analyst, and Blake Froling is the studio host. - Freshman forward Coen Carr contributes 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds, freshman guard Jeremy Fears Jr. is averaging 3.5 points and 3.3 assists and sophomore center Carson Cooper adds 4.0 points and 5.4 rebounds.
- Indiana State enters the game on Saturday with an 11-1 overall record and 10-straight wins following a 90-69 win over Tennessee State on Dec. 19.
- The Sycamores are 2-1 away from home, with wins at Bradley (85-77) and Northern Illinois (90-67) and their lone loss at Alabama (102-80).
