Ling an NCAA Qualifier On Opening Day of Zones

n the 1M board on Sunday. She finished 12th a day later on the 3M board,Â

The Zone C championships, which began on Sunday, are being hosted by the University of Kentucky. Â
Ling needed a top-seven finish in the event to advance, and was eight points out of a qualification spot prior to her final dive. She recorded her best dive of the day in her final attempt, a double twisting 1 1/2, and cemented her spot in Greensboro with a score of 546.20, edging out Indiana's Tarrin Gilliand (546.05). Â
In the prelims on the 3M board, Ling scored a 263.85, which left her out of the finals in the event. Â
The NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving championships will be held March 17-20 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The 1M will be contested on Thursday, March 18. Â
