Ling Begins NCAA Zone Diving Championships Sunday

East Lansing, MIch. -- Senior diver Amanda Ling (Wixom, Mich.) begins the Zone C (regional) Diving Championships on Sunday, March 7 at the University of Kentucky.

The Lancaster Aquatic Center is the venue for both the Zone C (March 7-9) an Zone D (March 11-13) Championships, with the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving championships slated to begin on March 17 in Greensboro North Carolina.

Ling will dive both 1M and 3M boards. At the Big Ten Championships a week ago, she finished eighth in the 3M with a score of 302.40. She made her A cut for the 1M board earlier in the season at Michigan, scoring a 308.00; she posted a personal-best score of 316.20 on the 1m board at Penn State, and on the 3m scored a 324.38 for a "B" cut.

This is the third consecutive year she has qualified for Zones in both boards, and she qualified as a freshman in the 1M as a freshman, finishing 14^th. Last year as a Zone qualifier, she earned CSCAA All-America honors.
