The Spartans tallied 48.775 on bars, 49.075 on vault, 49.075 on floor and 48.925 on beam for the winning score of 195.850.
"What a night, the team was in their element from start to finish," MSU head coach Mike Rowe said. "This team has worked so hard and tonight it paid off for us! Our exhibition routines even got the job done and have improved dramatically to enhance our depth. The best part is we're not done and know we have room to grow."
Starting on bars, the Spartans were led by Mitchell's 9.900, the first MSU gymnast to score a 9.9 or better on the apparatus this season as she took her sixth event win of the year. Senior Jessica Ling tallied a 9.825 and freshman Sydney Ewing received a 9.800, her third time earning a 9.800 or better this season.
Moving to vault for the second rotation, Ewing set a career-high with a 9.850 to win the event in only her third time in the vault lineup this season. Freshman Ashley Hofelich tied her personal best (9.825) after setting it last week at the Big Five and was equaled by Mitchell as the duo tied for second place to lead MSU to a podium sweep of the event.
MSU took to the floor for the third rotation, and was led by a 9.875 from Douglas to win the event. Hofelich set her second career-high in as many weeks with a 9.850 to take second and Mitchell tallied a 9.825 to finish tied for third.
Finishing on the beam, Douglas posted a 9.825 to win her second event of the night and grab at least a share of her sixth title this season, while Mitchell's season-high 9.800 led her to a second-place finish. Senior Roya Shirley set a new season high of 9.775, tying for third with freshman Alaina Raybon (9.775). Freshman Alyssa Wiedeman re-entered the lineup, tying her personal best of 9.750. The team balance beam score of 48.925 matched the Spartans' best of the season.
The Spartans return to action next week at Elevate The Stage in Birmingham, Alabama, where they'll take on Arkansas, Georgia and Minnesota at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex on Friday, March 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
