
Mutatu Named Big Ten Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

The sophomore earned his first B1G Player of the Week honor.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State sophomore Farai Mutatu was honored on Tuesday as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Penn State's Josh Levine picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors.
This is the first career Player of the Week honor for Mutatu, who is the Spartans leading scorer with three points. This is the first Big Ten Player of the Week award for Michigan State this season.
Mutatu, a forward from Haslett, Michigan, earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after earning three points in MSU's 3-0 win over No. 22 Rutgers. He scored his first goal of the season for the Spartan's third goal and had the assist on the second goal. Mutatu had five shots in the Spartans' first win of the season, capturing their Big Ten opener.
The Spartans and the Nittany Lions will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at DeMartin Stadium in a game televised on the Big Ten Network. Following the game against Penn State, Michigan State will travel to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m. on BTN.
