Spartan Men’s Soccer Releases 2026 Schedule

Michigan State will face six teams that reached the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State men's soccer head coach Damon Rensing announced the Spartans' 2026 schedule on Tuesday.
For the third-straight season, Michigan State will play 10 Big Ten Conference contests, as there are now 11 B1G teams sponsoring men's soccer with the addition of Washington and UCLA in 2024.
MSU will take on six teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season, including Big Ten opponents Washington, Indiana, Michigan, UCLA and Maryland. Non-conference opponent Kansas City also reached the NCAA Tournament. Washington is the reigning national champion.
The Spartans will host 11 regular-season games at the friendly confines of DeMartin Stadium. Michigan State ended last season eighth in the nation in attendance, averaging 2,236 fans per game, which was also third in the Big Ten.
Michigan State begins preparation for the season with a pair of exhibitions, beginning at DeMartin Stadium against Loyola Chicago (Aug. 8) and on the road at Notre Dame (Aug. 14). MSU opens the 2026 season with five-straight home games. In the Spartans' season opener, they will host UAlbany (Aug. 20), before facing Seattle on Aug. 23. The Spartans will then take on SIUE on Aug. 27, which will be a doubleheader with the MSU women's soccer team. The match-up against SIUE will be a coaching reunion of sorts, as Cougars head coach Cale Wassermann was an MSU assistant coach on Rensing's Spartan staff from 2014-18.
The Green & White will end August hosting Niagara on Aug. 30.
MSU starts September and concludes its five-game homestand by facing Pitt on Sept. 3. The Spartans' first road trip of the season will be at Kansas City on Sept. 11, before opening Big Ten action against Northwestern in East Lansing on Sept. 15. Michigan State will travel to Penn State (Sept. 18) and host Wisconsin (Sept. 25) to end the month.
As the calendar changes to October, MSU heads west to take on Big Ten Tournament Champion UCLA (Oct. 1), before traveling to 2025 Big Ten regular-season champions Maryland (Oct. 9). The Spartans return home for the annual Battle for the Big Bear against Michigan on Oct. 13. Michigan State quickly returns to the road, heading to Ohio State on Oct. 16. The Spartans end October with three-straight home games. MSU takes on defending NCAA National Champion Washington in East Lansing (Oct. 23). The Spartans step away from conference play to face Green Bay (Oct. 27), before resuming B1G action by concluding their home schedule against Rutgers (Oct. 30).
MSU will conclude the regular season on the road at Indiana on Nov. 4.
