Johnson, Piot and Walker Named to Big Ten Golfers to Watch List

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State golfers Kaleb Johnson, James Piot and Andrew Walker were named to the Big Ten Golfers to Watch List, announced by the conference office on Wednesday, Aug. 29.
Johnson, a junior, was an All-Big Ten second team selection and a PING All-Midwest Region honoree last season. The native of Naples, Florida, recorded the fifth-best single season average in program history at 72.62 and had three top-three finishes. He tied for first place at the Inverness Intercollegiate.
Piot was last year's Big Ten Freshman of the Year. The Canton native appeared in all 12 tournaments and posted four top-20 finishes, including one in the top 10. He ended the season with a 73.47 average.
Walker, a junior from Battle Creek, compiled a 74.03 average in competing in 11 of 12 tournaments a year ago.
The Spartans will begin the 2018-19 season Sept. 9-10 at the Gopher Invitational in Minnesota.
