Played one season at Lansing Community College for coach Drew Huard, was named a Second-Team All-American . . . Also earned Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Eastern Conference Player of the Year (POY) and Freshman of the Year accolades after setting LCC program record for wins (10) and ERA (2.09) . . . Made 14 appearances in posting a 10-3 record . . . Chalked up 86 strikeouts in 77.2 innings points, posting a 9.96 strikeouts-per-9-innings ratio . . . Helped lead the Stars to a 40-12 record and advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Region XII District 1 quarterfinals . . . Was a three-year lettermen at Grand Ledge High School for coach Patrick O'Keefe . . . Earned Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Dream Team honors, along with first-team All-State Division 1 and first-team All-Region accolades as a senior after posting a 9-0 record with a 0.65 ERA and firing 56 strikeouts . . . At the plate, batted .440 with 40 RBIs and two HR . . . Was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-area honoree . . . Rated as the No. 7 pitcher in Michigan and No. 60 player overall in Michigan by Prep Baseball Report . . . Also a three-time academic all-conference and two-time academic all-district honoree . . . Son of Bryan and Eileen Rush . . . Intends on majoring in business marketing at MSU . . . Chose the Spartans over Michigan, Central Michigan, Kansas State, Xavier, Murray State and Wayne State.

MSU Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Graham Sikes on Rush: "We have known about Wyatt for quite a while going back to his days at Grand Ledge. Each time we saw him he made us take notice but the timing wasn't right so he went to junior college and really took off. Wyatt is a worker and it was only a matter of time before his talent made a jump and last season at Lansing Community College he jumped. He went 10-3 with an ERA right 2.00 and averaged nearly 10 strikeouts per nine innings. He has always been on winning teams and he has shown he has a knack for winning. That is what I see when I watch him pitch, he just knows how to get guys out consistently. He is going to bring a lot of college experience with him when he gets to campus and I think it will really add to our pitching staff."

MSU Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach Mark Van Ameyde on Rush: "Wyatt is a kid we expect to come in and contribute immediately to the pitching staff. He continues to make big improvements due to his incredible work ethic and desire to be great. Coming off an excellent freshman season for LCC, where he led the team in innings pitched, wins and strikeouts, we are very excited to add him to the recruiting class for this fall. Wyatt is also from the area and we always try to keep our best local talent here at Michigan State."
