The Spartans, winners of five-straight games and 5-1 overall, are ranked No. 9 by the Associated Press and No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches poll. MSU was led by junior guard Cassius Winston (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit), who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and was also named the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday.
