Spartans Complete First Two Rounds of the Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, North Carolina -- The 28th-ranked Michigan State women's golf team wrapped up rounds one and two of the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday. Friday's opening round was suspended due to inclement weather and completed on Saturday along with the entire second round at the Country Club of Landfall.

Michigan State is 37-over-par 613 (315-298) and tied for 15th place.
All five Spartans improved their scores in round two over the opening round. Sophomore Yurika Tanida is leading all Spartans at 6-over-par 150 (76-74) and tied for 26th place overall.
After a 10-over-par 82 in the opening round, junior Paz Marfa Sans cut 10 strokes – the most of any Spartan in round two – to card an even-par 72. Marfa Sans recorded 16 pars in her second round as her 72 was the lowest score of the day by any Spartan. She is 10-over-par 154 and tied for 49th place.
Freshman Valery Plata is one stroke back of Marfa Sans at 11-over-par 155 (78-77) and in 54th place.
Junior Allyson Geer-Park carded a 3-over-par 75 in round two. She's 12-over-par 156 (81-75) and in 64th place.
Freshman Haylin Harris is 14-over-par 158 (80-78).
No. 8 Arkansas is leading the tournament at 9-over-par 585 (300-285) – six shots ahead of second place No. 17 South Carolina.
The teams will play the final round of the tournament on Sunday.
