EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer and Oakland have cancelled their upcoming game that was scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 17. Due to inclement weather last weekend, the Golden Grizzlies had to re-schedule their conference game with Detroit Mercy for Monday, Oct. 16.
Due to scheduling conflicts that would impact student-athlete welfare, the teams mutually agreed to not re-schedule the game this season. However, the in-state series will resume between Michigan State and Oakland in 2018.
The No. 8 Spartans will return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 20 at Northwestern at 8:30 p.m. (ET). Michigan State is 10-2-2 overall and 4-0-2 in Big Ten action. The Spartans are off to their best conference start in school history. MSU will return to DeMartin Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 24 against No. 9 Notre Dame in a game that will televised by BTN.
