
MSU Swim & Dive Host Annual Alumni Meet

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State swimming and diving program will host its 61st annual alumni meet on Saturday, Oct. 15, that will take place at the IM West Indoor Pool.
The competition begins at 11 a.m., but warm-ups start at 10 a.m. All alumni of the Michigan State swimming and diving program are strongly encouraged to attend.
During the alumni meet, the Michigan State swimming and diving team will honor the 2016-17 Heusner Award winners. The following are this year's recipients:
Terry and Tamara Inch
Terry Inch was a member of the swimming and diving team. He was a three-year letterwinner from 1980-82, and was the team captain in 1982. His dedication to the swimming and diving program is appreciated.
Greg Mihalik
Greg Mihalik was a four year letterwinner on the MSU swimming and diving team from 1989-92. Mihalik was a member of the All-American 800 Freestyle Relay in 1989, and was on the Honorable Mention All-American 200 Freestyle Relay in 1990.
Jim and Kathleen Rockwell
The Rockwell's started a relationship with MSU swimming and diving in 2007 when their son, Brian Rockwell, started competing for the Spartans. They have been constant supporters of the program ever since.
Bob and Julie Skandalaris
The Skandalaris family has been deeply enriched in Michigan State University for years. They became a part of the Michigan State swimming and diving program in 2008 when their son, Andrew Skandalaris, joined the team.
The Spartans will also present a new honor this year, the Alumnus of the Year award. The honor goes to the following:
Jack Seibold
Jack Seibold was a member of the swimming and diving team. He was a two-year letterwinner in 1947 and 1950. Seibold is a vital member of the Michigan State swimming & diving team, and his continued support of the program is appreciated.
The swimming and diving program appreciate the support of its outstanding award winners and continues to be very grateful for its remarkable swimming and diving alumni community.
At the conclusion of the upcoming weekend, the Michigan State women's swimming and diving team will return to action first at Illinois on Friday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. The men's and women's team will be back to competition Friday, Nov. 4, at Cincinnati. The meet is set to begin at 4 p.m.
