Spartan Divers Finish NCAA Zone C Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Spartan divers ended the season on Friday at the NCAA Zone C Championships at Ohio State. The day was highlighted by sophomore Madeline Sewell making it to the finals of the women's 1-meter event.
"It has been an absolutely fantastic year," said head diving coach Eric Best. "Cristee had one of the best performances in school history at the Big Ten Championships. Maddie did a fantastic job on her second list of dives. It was possibly one of her best in her career."
Madeline Sewell finished the day in 13th place with a score of 580.20. Sewell recorded a score of 280.90 in the prelims to advance to the finals.
A pair of Spartan senior competed for the final time at Michigan State. Senior Cristee Cordes finished in 23rd with a score of 261.15. Alison Menzies tallied a score of 214.35 to finish in 44th in the 1-meter.
"Cristee and Alison have had fantastic careers here at Michigan State," said Best.
In the men's 3-meter, junior Charles Maurer finished in 28th place with 252.75. Sophomore Brennan LaBar did not compete due to an injury today.
