EAST LANSING, Mich. - It came down to the wire on Saturday between No. 38 DePaul and the Spartans. The Spartans trailed 3-0 before tying the match at three, but the Blue Demons came out on top, 4-3. Michigan State is now 9-2 on the season.
"I am really proud of the team," said head coach Simone Jardim. "They really gave it their all and left it all on the court and that is all I can ask from them."
The Blue Demons won the hard fought double point on Saturday morning. Freshman Lexi Baylis and junior Emily Meyers struck first at No. 3 doubles, defeating Jarret Fisher and Patricia Lancranjan, 6-4. Senior Catherine Parenteau tied the match at three at No. 4 singles. Parenteau downed Jasmin Kling in three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.
