East Lansing, Mich.— Michigan State head coach Kathie Klages has announced the addition of sophomore gymnast Lindsey Lemke (Holt, Mich.), a transfer student from the University of North Carolina. Lemke is eligible to compete immediately, and joins the Spartans in advance of the 2016 season.
"We are thrilled to have Lindsey join our program," Klages said. "Lindsey is a local gymnast who committed to UNC before we had an opportunity to recruit her. Being that she is local, we know her well and excited to have her join our team for the season." As a freshman at North Carolina, Lemke's season-high scores included a 9.875 on the bars (vs. Pittsburgh), and a 9.650 (also vs. the Panthers) with limited competition on floor exercise while competing for the Tar Heels.
"She is a great athlete on all four events and we look to add her into the lineup as her training allows," Klages added. "She should be a strong contributor by mid-season."
