CLEVELAND â€" Six Michigan State wrestlers placed at the Cleveland State Open on Saturday, including sophomore Mitch Rogaliner, who led the Spartans with a third-place showing at 125 pounds. More than 30 teams competed in the tournament.
Rogaliner reached the semifinals at 125 following wins over Steven Simpson of Old Dominion, 5-4, and Derek Gulotta of Lock Haven, 7-2, but fell in the semifinals to Michigan's Austin Assad, 3-0. Rogaliner ended up taking third after Central Michigan's Carter Ballinger missed the third-place match due to a medical forfeit.

Trimble was victorious in his first three matches, including a 4-0 shutout over Edinboro's Chase Delande in the quarterfinals, but narrowly fell to Jordan Kutler of Lehigh, 4-3, in the semifinals. Casey Sparkman of Kent State defeated Trimble in the third-place match, 5-3.
Joe Johnson took sixth in the 157-pound bracket with four wins on the day.
