Gauruder Earns Academic All-America Honors

EAST LANSING -Michigan State senior goalkeeper Gabrielle Gauruder has been named to the 2015 Academic All-America Division I Third Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced today (Nov. 24) by the organization.
Gauruder started all 18 games in goal for the Spartans this past season, recording a 0.79 goals-against average and .850 save percentage. The native of South Lyon is currently in grad school at MSU where she has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in special education.
Of the 33 players named to the Academic All-America® NCAA Division I women's soccer teams, Gauruder was one of nine players with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
For her career, she ranks 10th in MSU history in total saves (145), fifth in saves per game (4.53), and third in goals-against average (1.00).
Gauruder posted five shutouts this past season, three of which came in Big Ten play, including vs. Nebraska (Sept. 20), Michigan (Sept. 25) and Minnesota (Oct. 15).
Gauruder became eligible for Academic All-America honors after being voted to the Academic All-District team last month.
