Allendale, Mich. - The Michigan State men's and women's track & field teams were in action on Friday at the Mike Lints Open, hosted by Grand Valley State University. The Spartan women finished second among 13 competing squads with 105.60 total points, while the MSU men's team recorded 94 points and placed third.
"Overall, it was a good opener for us. There were a number of personal records matched or beaten today in both the track and field events," said Michigan State assistant coach Ceith Creekmur. "For the first meet of the season, I think that indicates we are in a good position."
A total of seven Spartan athletes turned in top marks and times in the following events.
Women's 60m dash: Jellisa Westney, 7.57
