
Swimming Recognized for Team Academic Acheivements

EAST LANSING, Michigan - The Michigan State men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named Scholar All-America Teams supported by Nike Swim by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Thursday.

The Team Scholar All-American Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The men's team completed the semester with a 3.28 GPA and the women's team finished with a 3.40 GPA.
The program, led by Matt Gianiodis, had eight members recognized as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars, including three with a 4.0 GPA, and a combined total of 32 received Academic All-Big Ten selection. Other academic achievements this season have included David Zoltowski receiving the 2014 Goldwater Scholarship and Jacob Jarzen receiving a Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship.
