
National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Teams Announced

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Four men's soccer athletes were named to the All-Midwest Regional Teams by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Senior midfielder Fatai Alashe and junior midfielder Jay Chapman were named First Team All-Region and senior forward Adam Montague and junior defender Zach Carroll were named Third Team All-Region.

This is the most First Team selections for MSU men's soccer since 1970 and the most all-around selections since 1968. Michigan State is tied for the most honorees in the Big Ten from the Midwest Region with Maryland at four.
This is the second All-Region and first First Team selection for Chapman. Chapman was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year and a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann trophy. The Campbellford, Ontario, native earned All-Region honors in 2013.
This is the first All-Region selection for Alashe. Alashe was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team and Academic All-Big Ten following the regular season.
This is the second All-Region selection for Montague. He was first named All-Region in 2012. Montague also earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors following the regular season and was named Academic All-Big Ten.
This is the first All-Region selection for Carroll. Carroll earned Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week and College Soccer News National Team of the Week honors following his performance against Oakland in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The men's soccer team concluded its post-season run in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament with a record of 12-5-6 for 2014.
