
Men's Soccer Announces All-Big Ten Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten conference announced the men's soccer All-Big Ten teams and individual honors on Kevin Egan's BTN Soccer Report Wednesday evening. Five Spartans were honored with seven different award.

Junior midfielder Jay Chapman earned Midfielder of the Year. The Campbellford, Ontario, native has totaled 12 points so far this season from four goals and four assists as the team's second leading scorer. Chapman also earned first-team All-Big Ten honors at the midfield position. This is his second first-team selection, and third all-conference recognition after being named to the All-Freshman team in 2012.
Seniors Adam Montague and Ryan Keener were both selected to the second team at forward and defender, respectively.
This is Montague's fourth all-conference award, earning recognition every year since 2011. Montague is the team's third leading scorer with 11 points from four goals and three assists.
An Academic All-District honoree, this is Keener's second All-Big Ten recognition since being named to the All-Freshman team in 2011. Keener was also named as Michigan State's Sportsmanship Award Honoree by the Big Ten for 2014. Keener has two goals this season, assisting the defense in totaling 11 shutouts for the team so far this season.
Brad Centala and Ken Krolicki were named to the All-Freshman Team. Centala has played in 14 games and started nine in his first season as a Spartan, joining Keener on the back line. Krolicki has played in 19 games and started seven in the midfield position, earning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors for his two goals against No. 2 Indiana in the final regular-season.
The Spartans will return to Big Ten Tournament action this weekend, playing top-seeded Maryland in College Park on Friday, Nov. 14 at 3:40 p.m. The semifinal match will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
