
Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season at EMU Fall Classic

Aubrey Wilberding was the top performer for the Spartans in the women's 5K race, finishing 10th overall with a time of 18:03.60. Molly Jeakle placed 18th with a time of 18.19.90, followed by Brooke Kovacic (18:24.60) and Jaclyn Magness (19:39.90) in 22nd and 59th, respectively. Allison McGinn (74th - 20:21.60), Emily Gibbings (76th - 20:35.50) and Madie Fisher (86th - 21:21.30) rounded out the rotation for Michigan State.
In the men's 5K race, Eric Buday finished 29th with a time of 15:54.60 to lead the Spartans. Ryan Beyea (16:03.10) and Josh Kersjes (16:05.10) were next to cross the finish line for MSU in 34th and 38th respectively, followed by Austin Wissler (44th - 16:12.10) and Ryan Konen (73rd - 16:58.90).
The Spartans will have a week to prepare for the Big Ten Cross Country Championships, which will take place next Sunday, Nov. 2. The MSU women will be looking for their fourth conference championship in five years, while the Spartan men's team will look to build on last season's seventh-place finish. The meet will be held at Ashton Cross Country Course in Iowa City, Iowa.
DEXTER, Mich. - The Michigan State men's and women's cross country teams closed out their regular season at the Eastern Michigan University Fall Classic on Friday afternoon. The No. 1-ranked Spartan women's squad placed two runners in the top-20, while the No. 22-ranked MSU men had four individuals in the top-50. There was no team scoring for the event.
