
Anthony Agrusa Earns Academic All-District Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field senior Anthony Agrusa has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District IV First Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) today (June 2). Agrusa is now eligible to be named an Academic All-American with the recognition.
Agrusa looks to become the first Spartan since 2005, and second all-time, to be recognized with Academic All-America honors when Nathan Egger received third-team distinction.
The St. Clair Shores, Mich., native, currently boasts a 3.77 GPA in human biology.
Earlier this year Agrusa turned in a then-school record toss of 62.25m in the hammer throw at the 32nd Sun Angel Track Classic. Agrusa also placed 16th at the 2011 Big Ten Championships in the discus with a toss of 46.26m. He was also 17th in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.65m.
As a result of his performance this season, Agrusa was one of 28 qualifiers for the Green and White at the 2011 NCAA Opening Rounds, qualifying in the hammer throw. Agrusa placed 35th at the preliminary rounds with a toss of 56.51m.
