NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Michigan State track & field team opened action at the Alex Jay Gillespie led MSU on the day with his second-place toss of 20.06m in the men's weight throw.
Gillespie's mark is a personal-best toss and trailed only Max Mays of Ohio State who posted a 20.20m toss.
Teammate Lonnie Pugh placed sixth in the competition with a distance of 18.83m.
The Spartans close out action at the Last Chance meet on Saturday, March 5 with competition slated to begin at 12 p.m.
