The Spartans improve to 4-4 all-time in overtime games, including a 2-0 record against the Irish. MSU also beat Notre Dame in overtime in 2005, coming away with a 44-41 victory at Notre Dame Stadium.

Chris L. Rucker recorded a career-high 12 tackles, including one for loss (1 yard), a forced fumble and two pass break-ups...his previous career high was nine against Notre Dame in 2008.
Marcus Hyde recorded a career-high 11 tackles and also recovered a fumble...his previous career high was nine against Central Michigan in 2009.
