Former Spartan national champion Franklin Gomez competed at the 2010 FILA Senior World Championships this past weekend in Moscow, Russia.
Representing his home of Puerto Rico, Gomez wrestled in the 60 kg freestyle bracket. After receiving a first-round bye in a bracket that featured 34 wrestlers, Gomez fell to Malkhaz Kurdiani of Georgia. Kurdiani was a bronze medalist at the 2009 European Championships.
