EAST LANSING, Mich. - Head coach Matt Gianiodis has released the 2010-11 schedule for the Michigan State men's and women's swimming and diving teams. The schedule features nine home meets at McCaffree Pool, in addition to the Green-White meet on Oct. 8 and the Alumni Meet on Oct. 16.
"We have a nice, balanced schedule, and thanks to the generosity of our alumni and boosters, we have some flexibility to visit places we don't normally go," said Gianiodis.
The Spartan women open their campaign against Minnesota on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. The men will open Friday,Oct. 22 vs. Iowa.
The home schedule also includes meets against Notre Dame (Oct. 29 - women; Jan. 21 - men), Ball State (Dec. 11), Purdue (Jan. 15), Michigan (Jan. 28 - women; Feb. 5 - men) and Bowling Green (Feb. 4).
MSU will make trips to Illinois (Nov. 5), the Georgia Tech Invitational (Nov. 18-20), the Eastern Michigan Invitational (Dec. 3-4), Ohio State (Jan. 22) and Oakland (Jan. 29). MSU will also take on Grand Valley State at Jenison High School on Nov. 12.
The Women's Big Ten Championships are set for Feb. 16-19 at Bloomington, Ind., while the men are scheduled for Feb. 23-26 in Minneapolis.
