Incoming Spartan Gareth Blease Wins Tucker Trophy

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Incoming Michigan State men's golfer Gareth Blease claimed the Tucker Trophy this weekend, July 10-11, posting a 4-round score of 6-under par 280. It was Blease's first Golf Union of Wales Order of Merit victory.
Blease, a London, England, native, opened with rounds of 66 and 69 at the par-72 Newport Golf Club on Saturday and followed with rounds of 72 and 73 on Sunday at the par-71 Whitchurch Golf Club. He won the title by one shot over Chris Nugent and Jason Shufflebotham.
