
Women's Tennis Falls 5-2 to Indiana

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team fell to Indiana on Saturday, April 24, 5-2, at the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Freshman Michaela Silesova (Topolcany, Slovakia) teamed together with sophomore Elena Ivanova (Moscow, Russia) to post the Spartans lone win in doubles action over Lindsey Stuckey and Evgeniya Verteshava, 8-5.
Silesova forced Vertesheva into a three-set match at No. 1 singles. After winning the first set, 6-1, Silesova ultimately fell in the final two sets, 3-6, 1-6. Ivanova impressed at the No. 3 spot, defeating Zapadolova, 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Renata de Paiva (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) earned the final singles win for the Green and White when she topped Myriam Sopel, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0.
The Spartans host Illinois tomorrow, Sunday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
