
Swimming and Diving Travels to Georgia Tech Invite

EAST LANSING, Mich - The Michigan State men's swimming team will travel to Georgia Tech this weekend Friday-Sunday (Nov. 19-21) for the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. This marks the first time the Spartans will have traveled to compete in the Ramblin Wreck's pool since the 2004-05 season.
This weekend marks the fourth competition for the men as they previously hosted Iowa, while facing Southern Illinois and Grand Valley State in neutral site duals.
Last time out, the Spartan men topped the GVSU, 149-87, in Jenison, Mich. MSU won 12 of the 13 events contested.
Leading the way was Brad Gillilan as he won both the 500 yard and 1000 yard freestyle races, clocking it at 9:32.98 and 4:41.18, respectively. Brandon Williams placed in each of the three events he competed in, the 200 yard medley relay, the 50 yard freestyle and the 200 yard freestyle relay team.
On the board, Ivan Zalessov led the team with a sweep of both the one-meter and three-meter dives. Zalessov recorded a score of 359.70 on the one-meter and a 367.20 mark on the three-meter.
