
Women's Tennis Drops Match to FAU, 4-2

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team fell to Florida Atlantic Saturday, January 30, in Orlando, Fla., 4-2, with one singles match and one doubles match going unfinished. MSU currently stands at 2-3 on the 2010 season.
The Spartans started the day out strong after attaining the doubles point. Freshman Nicole Herzog (Manillia, Brazil) and junior Manon Noe (Liancourt, France) teamed together to defeat Erika Mrazkova and Natasha Basma at No. 1 doubles, 8-3. At No. 3 doubles, junior Whitney Wilson (Evansville, Ind.) and freshman Amy Barton (Brisbane, Australia) joined forces to top Natalia Totevska and Dominique Wimmer, 8-4.
Freshman Michaela Silesova (Topolcany, Slovakia) picked up the only win for the Spartans in singles action after defeating Totevska in dominating fashion, 6-2, 6-3.
The Green and White next host Syracuse on Sunday, February 7, at 10 a.m. at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
