Spartans race well in fall event with Michigan, Eastern Michigan

Michigan State got its fall schedule underway on Saturday in Ann Arbor, racing against eights from Michigan and Eastern Michigan, as well as with fours for the Wolverines. The Spartans swept all five races involving the eights, and its second entry finished third in four of five races - in the fourth race, the second UM entry edged the Spartans by a bowball.
Each school fielded two eights, while just the Spartans and Wolverines put together a pair of fours. Official times were not kept, the order of finish was all that was recorded.
