
Six Track & Field Athletes Earn All-Academic Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Six Michigan State track & field team members were honored as US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic Team members, announced by the USTFCCCA office on Monday (July 13). Leah Elenbaas (Greenville, Mich.), Emily MacLeod (Cincinnati, Ohio), Sarah Price (Mankato, Minn.) and Lisa Senakiewich (Davison, Mich.) comprised the selections for the women's team, while Anthony Agrusa (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) and Yury Ratomski (Novi, Mich.) were named to the men's team.
The four All-Academic Team selections for the women's team ties for the fifth-most in the Big Ten with Illinois; Purdue led all women's teams with nine selections. Both Price and Senakiewich have now been named to the All-Academic Team three times in their careers while MacLeod earns the honor for the second time in her career; all three earned were selected to the team last season. Elenbaas is a first-time honoree.
Agrusa is making his second appearance on the list having met the qualifications last season. Ratomski is a first-time honoree after having a breakout season in his sophomore year.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the respective student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard, or the NCAA Division I outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event. In all, there were 327 men and 531 women selected to the All-Academic team.
